Questions about WordPress and GetRealtorWebsite
Is WordPress bad for real estate agents?
No. It powers a large share of the web and can make an excellent agent site. The difference is who does the work: WordPress needs hosting, updates and plugin management, and a managed site hands all of that to us.
Do you build on WordPress?
No. We build custom-coded sites with no page builder and no plugin stack, which is how we hold every page at a guaranteed PageSpeed score and keep maintenance off your plate.
Can I keep my IDX plugin?
Our sites do not run WordPress plugins. There is no automatic MLS or brokerage feed; listings are added as pages through revisions. If a live IDX search is essential to how you work, WordPress with a good IDX plugin may suit you better.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I move off WordPress?
The risk comes from changed addresses without redirects. We keep your domain, rebuild the pages that matter and redirect any old address that changes to its closest new page, which is the standard way to protect what the old site earned.
Is WordPress cheaper?
The software is free. Hosting, premium themes and plugins, and developer time are not, and they vary a lot. Our plans are one flat monthly fee with hosting, domain and revisions included, so the comparison is really your time and add-ons against that fee.
Can I edit my site myself like I do in WordPress?
You request changes in a client portal and we make them. If editing pages yourself every day is important to you, WordPress gives you that directly.
What about my WordPress blog posts?
We bring over the posts worth keeping during the move, then publish new researched articles every week on every plan, each linked to the area pages it supports.
Who owns the site if I leave?
Your domain is registered in your name and transferred free if you leave, and we export your content and articles within 14 days. The code and design are ours, which is part of why the monthly fee covers the build.
